[Special to “Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day.

The well-known landmark on the Auckland waterfront road, the Brown Owl Cabaret, Kohimaramara, was destroyed by fire early this morning. The fire was well under way when noticed by a resident whose home was seriously endangered. The brigade found it impossible to save anything on the- cabaret premises, but made a good save of the house and a block of shops adjoining. The cabaret building, which was totally destroyed, was valued at £IOOO. It was owned by the Guardian Trust and Executors' Co., of N.Z., Ltd., and insured with the South British Company for £900..
