Whale For Dinner

A small whale, about ten feet in length, was washed up on the Ahipara beach on Sunday night. It had apparently been attacked by some .other fish, for it was holed and- gashed in several places. This in no wise diminished its value in the eyes of the natives, and in a short time it had been cut up and distributed round the kainga as a welcome addition to the everyday menu.
