Heavy Yarding Of Dairy Cows At Maungakaramea
'Messrs. Alfred Buck!and and Sons, I Ltd., report holding a stock sale at j Maungakaramea, when there was a : heavy yarding of dairy stock, but with poor competition prices realised were below late rates. Best dairy cows and heifers made from £5 to £6; backward cows, £3/15/- to £4/15/-; potter bulls, £3/10/-: fat cows and heifers, £5/10/- to £6/15/-; boner cows, £1 10/- to £2/15/-; in calf Shorthorn run cows. £3/15/- to £4/2/-; empty heifers, £2/10/- to £3/15/-. At the Waiotira sale conducted by the same firm, there was only a small yarding and no heavy ox beef was penned. Springers made from £3 to £5; heavy fat cows. £6/15/- to £8; store cows, £5/5/-.
