Aucklanders At Mt. Denby

Golf

Tiu- Stable ford Bogey piayed by members of the Whangarei Golf Club during the week-end was won by V. C. Potter. 22—18 —40. Other good cards were: A. C. Aplin. 32-5—37; W. J. Glanville, 24 —2 —36; R. Pottei. 22—13—35; D. Goodwin, 18—17—35; L. S. Miller, 19—14-33; R. Barron. 22—11—33; J. S. Day. 25—7—32; C. A. Jones. 16-16-32; H. K. Clarke. 17 —15 —32; Dr. Good. 19—13—32. During the week-end a team from the North Shore (Auckland) Golf Club, visited Mt. Denby for the annual inter-club match with the Whangarei club. In the singles games Whangarei had a margin of three, but were one down on the four-ball. Results, with North Shore players mentioned first, were: —H. Preston. Jnr., lost to A. S, Aplin; J. Bull lost to J. Littlewood; L. Harrison and M. Sheriff, all square: M. C. O'Connor and R. Gray, all square; W. Roberts won from H. Younger; T. Miller lost to D. McLeod; R. Clouslon and K. Potter, all square; A, Whyte lost to R. Barron; H. Ibbertson won from G. Birnie; W. L. Thwaites lost to M. Fulton; R. Nealie lost to C. T. Clark; J. O’Neil and J. Morton, all square. Preston and Bull lost to Aplin and Littlewood; Harrison and O’Connor and Sherriff and Gray, all square; Roberts and Miller won from Younger and McLeod; Whyte and Ibbertson won from Barron and Birnie; Nealie and O’Neil and Clark and Morton, all square.
