Another R.A.F. Non-Stop Record

(Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 9. The “News Chronicle” says the nonstop flight of 4300 miles to Egypt made by Air Force machines has paved the way to a non-stop hop from Cairo to Sydney, which it is understood will be attempted in the autumn. Although 4300 miles is a record for a bomber formation, it is known that Vickers-Wellesley aeroplanes are capable of flying a considerably further distance without refuelling. Another formation flight record was made by the R.A.F. last night, when 18 machines, including 11 Hurricane fighters, flew 235 miles from Northolt, Middlesex, to Le Bourget, France, in 66 minutes.

The Hurricanes are the fastest fighters in the Air Force.
