A Serious Charge
[Per Press Association. - Copyright.} WELLINGTONN, This Day. Charged with assaulting John Joseph Owen on June 7, at Petone, so as to cause actual bodily harm, Leonard Neiling (25). a labourer and brushmaker, appeared before Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, Sub-Inspector Dempsey said the accused was arrested at Waihi on the present, charge, and the man allegedly assaulted had since died. The police asked for a remand for a week.
A remand was granted and bail was refused.
