Mangapai Hockey Ball
Held in Mangapai last week, the hockey ball was a huge success. The hall was 'tastefully decorated with bush greenery. The M.C. was Mr C. Monk. An extra was played by Mrs R. Turtill. The novelty dances wore won by Miss Joyce Ringham and Mr Flyger (Monte Carlo), Mr and Mrs Jensen (Wellington) Monte Carlo, Miss G. Bloy and Mr V., Harvey (Lucky Number Confetti).

Hayward, parma violet crepe, silver trimming; Roy Turtill, navy georgette and lace; Bob Cook, hailstone net over pink satin; Allan Thomson, honey gold cloque; Mclnnes, tartan skirt, green tunic; Challenger, wine satin beauto, black georgette coatee; Winston Johns, floral ninon; F. G. Bint, ivory satin beaute; N. Eckhold (Napier), black velvet, white fur coat; Merv. Alison, autumn shaded floral georgette; Jensen (Wellington), geranium georgette, silver trimmings; E. Gunson, eau de nil taffeta and xxet; McCollum, black crepe de chine. Misses Joyce Ringham, black and silver tinsel organza; D. Wakelin, floral taffeta; Mavis Draffin, old gold satin beaute; Janice Squii’es, black satin, silver accessories; Annie Whittle, pink flowered uncrushable voile; F. Thomas, black satin and lace; P.
