Strike And Bloodshed In Palestine
(Received 2.0 p.m.) JERUSALEM. July 8. A British policeman and. six Arabs were injured by a bomb explosion in the old city, in Jerusalem. Arabs have declared a general strike at Amman, in sympathy with the victims at Haifa. It is announced that four were killed and 15 injured when a bomb wrecked a 'bus crowded with Arab countryfolk. A Black Watch detachment fixed bayonets and cleared the busy market-place. Three Jews were arrested for fatal, bomb-throwing. The Black Watch has taken up stations in the street, and it is rumoured that battalions of the Irish Guards and the Essex Regiment are standing-by in Esvnt. _
