Formation of three chains of foorrath from the school gate to the end of the concrete footpath In Portland vvas urged by the Portland School Committee in a letter received at the nonthly meeting of the Whangaroi County Council yesterday. The committee stated that it felt the scheme was absolutely essential, particularly for the welfare of the children in wet weather. The matter is being considered by the engineer and the councillor for the riding. Mrs John Robison and her small son Gray arrived in Whangarei on Saturday on an extended holiday.
