The North Auckland Farmers' Co-op.. Limited reports holding a stock sale at Maungaturoto yesterday when a fair average yarding for this time of the year came forward, practically everything yarded changing hands. Dairy cattle were a little easier than usual, no doubt owing tc the shortage of feed. Vendors, however. were prepared to meet the market. Best Jersey heifers made from £6 10/- to £7; smaller and inferior, £4 15/- to £5 17/6; Jersey cross heifers, £5 15/- to £6 15/-; the yarding of dairy cows was mainly of aged stock which did not reach much demand, prices being from- £4 5/- to £5 7 / 6; 2-^-year Hereford steers, £7 5/-; 20-month Hereford steers, £5 12/-; 20-month Shorthorn steers. £4 2/-; fat Jersey cows, £5 2/6 to £5 10/-; lighter sorts, £4 10/- to £5 1/-; good heavy boner cows. £3 10/- tc £4 2/6; medium. £2 15/- to £3 7/6; light, £2 2/- to £2 12/-; boner bulls, £4 2/- to £4 15/-; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 17/6 to £4 2/6; yearling Shorthorn heifers. £2 12/- to £2 £2 16/-. Heavy Yarding At Poroti. The New Zealand Loan and Mercatile Agency Company, Ltd., reports holding a stock sam at Poroti on Friday when there was an exceptionally heavy yarding chiefly of dairy and boner cattle. The attendance was fair and the competition good, practically everything selling. Best Jersey cows, close to profit, made from £7 2/6 to £8 12/6; later calvers, £5 17/6 to £6 10/-; more backward, £4 5/- to £5; best dairy heifers, Shorthorn. £6 10/- to £7; Jersey heifers, close to profit, £7 to £7 15/-; light fat cows, £6 5/- to £6 12/6; forward cows, £4 to £4 5/-; boner cows, £3 17/6 to £3: boner bulls. £4 to £4 10/-.
