Power Cut Off For Four Hours

For four hours on Monday last Hikurangi was without electric power. This was the result of a breakage in the Waitemata Power Board’s line. Fortunately the disconnection was from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m., and little inconvenience was caused. Early risers, and housewifes depending on the electric stoves to cook breakfast were the worst sufferers. In a few instances farmers with electricity installed in the sheds were forced to postpone milking until the fault was rectified.
