Mr F. Elliott, chairman of directors of the Hikurangi Co-op. .Dairy Company, Limited, presided at the annual meeting of suppliers of the company yesterday. Since the inception of the company 34 years ago Mr Elliott has occupied a seat on the directorate, about half of this time as chairman.
Mr Fred Hayward was made a life member of the Kensington Bowling Club at the annual meeting last night. A foundation member, Mr Hayward has been a keen supporter ever since.
Convincing proof that Paulette Goddard, film actress, is Charlie Chaplin’s wife is seen in the fact that she registered in a golf tournament at Delmonte, California, as Mrs Charlie Chaplin, says the United Press. It is also pointed out that place-cards at recent dinners where she has been a guest were marked “Mrs Chaplin."
