Alleged Slander
[Per Press Association. Copyright .] INVERCARGILL, This Day. A writ claiming £SOO damages for alleged slander was served on the Mayor of Invercargill. Mr John Miller, last evening, by Mr Kenneth G, Roy, solicitor, acting on behalf of Alfred William Jones. The action has arisen as the result of alleged remarks made by the Mayor at a meeting of the city council on Tuesday night. Mr Jones is a member of the council.
