Miss E. M. Wedding newly appointed matron of the Kawakawa Hospital, has taken up duty. Passing through Whangarei recently, en route to his home in Russell, was Mr. J. G. (Johnny) Wright, BAgric. Sc., of Palmerston North, Mr. Wright, who took his degree at Massey College, is an old pupil of the Whangarei High School and well remembered for his musical ability. Mr H. P. Leng, who has retired from the position of preacher at the Whangarei Church of Christ, left on Saturday, together with Mrs Leng, for his new home at Te Hana. Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay was re-elected chairman of the Whangarei Hospital Board at the board’s annual meeting 1 today. Mr H. F. Younger has been ’.appointed representative of the Whangarei Hospital Board on the citizens’ committee of the Whangarei St. John Ambulance Division.
