Ladies Gardening Club

The fortnightly meeting of the Ladies’ Gardening Club was held at the club room, in the Masonic Temple, Albert Street, on Monday, May 23. A large number of members attended to meet and hear Mrs Tattersfield. the visiting lecturer, who spoke on the gardens of England she had seen on her recent visit to the Old Country. The lecture was illustrated by a great ’number of lantern slides, photographs of gardens including those of Beverley Nichols,. Cecil Roberts, Marion Cram the Marquis of Salisbury, Rev. Professor Little, Mr A, E. Boles, the Oxford Summer Col* lege and many others. A trip to France and some of the gardens there were described, also some of the cactus gardens the lecturer had seen in Sydney. At the conclusion of her interesting talk. Mrs Tattersfiekl. was accorded, the club’s heartiest thanks. Afternoon tea was served, hostesses being Mesdames Sands, G. Woolley. Steventon, Harmon Smith. Sharman, Stcedman and Soally.
