RIOTS IN JAMAICA. Eight were injured when a rioting mob at Kingston, Jamaica, attempted to seize the gaol, ostensibly to release some imprisoned labour leaders. Several thousand fought the police with sticks and stones, and militia and reinforcements had to be called out. -New strikes have occurred, adding to the tension caused by the docks and sanitary strikes. FRED PERRY. It is announced from Chicago that Fred Perry, the British professional tennis player, formerly Davis Cup player, and three times Wimbledon champion, is applying for American citizenship. A MINUTE TOO LATE, The coroner told the jury at the inquest into the victims of the London Underground railway smash of May 17 that an inexperienced porter at the Temple Station was telephoned from Charing Cross, and told of a signal wiring fault. He was unable to understand what was mdant, but eventually realised the seriousness, and rushed to stop the train a minute too late,
