Britain Prepares For Emergency

The Government introduced into the House of Commons today the Essential Commodities Bill, placing in order the recent purchases of wheat, sugar and whale oil needed in the event of war. The Bill authorises future purchases of food, fertilisers, fodder for animals, and petroleum products, the erection of storage warehouses, and the creation of a fund into which will be paid sums periodically voted by Parliament,
