Coming Of Age

There was a large attendance c,f friends at a dance held on May 19 at Vinery Lane Hall in honour of tin coming of pge of Mr Leslie Morgan. Mr Conaghah carried out. the duties of M.C. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Myrtle Purvis and Mr James Calder. A beautiful cake was decorated in blue and gold: Twenty-one candles were arranged round the cake with a large kewpie in the centre. Mr H. Brown, on behalf of his many friends, presented Leslie with a gold key, the recipient' responding. A sumptuous supper was followed by the cutting of the cake, while all joined in singing ‘Tor He's a Jolly Good Fellow.” The usual toasts were honoured. Mr M. Conaghan, on behalf of Leslie’s parents, thanked all present for their kindness and attendance in helping to make the evening a complete success.
