A Dull Exchange
[Special To “Northern Advocate”'! AUCKLAND, This Day. All sections of the market were dull oh the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, and quotations showed little change. News of a slightly improved tone on the Sydney exchange had a firming effect on Australian industrials. Broken Hill Pty,, were quoted 6d higher, between £2 19/9 and £3 0/3, and. G. J. Coles showed a similar improvement, with buyers at £4 0/6. There was no improvement in metal .shares, except in the case of Mt. Morgans, which were slightly higher with a market between 8/6 and 8/10. In. the banking section, interest was confined to the two New Zealand institutions, sellers raising their limits to £2 12/9 for Nationals and £2 5/for New Zealands, with buyers steady at £2 12/- and £2 4/6 respectively. New Zealand Insurances were firmer, between £2 18/- and £2 18/6. Government securities were quoted at late rates, though the buying inquiry was not as keen as yesterday on the whole.
