Special Allowances For Teachers
[Per Press Association. Copyright.'] WELLINGTON, This Day. Regulations gazetted last night make provision for a special allowance for male students at Training College, probationery assistants, and relieving teachers who are married, at a rate not exceeding the amount by which their other allowance or salary is less than £209/15/-. ■ Previously, no provision was made for training married college students and probationery assistants. Another regulation authorises the Minister of Education in special cases to authorise leave on full or half-pay for period, or periods, in excess of those already provided. Leave for special purposes may be granted under such conditions as to the payment of salary as may be approved by the Minister.
