Minister’s Centennial Exhibition Ruling
A letter to the Mangonui County Council from the Minister of Internal Affairs deaing with the centennial exhibition and the difficulty , experienced in arranging for a meeting of zone "A” committees, urged the necessity' for all districts conforming to the requirements of organisation. . If the northern counties organised as a single unit to carry out their own arrangements, apart from the main organisation, they could receive no official recognition. Cr. Vickers: That cuts out the subsidy. I thought Whangarei and Dargaville had that all settled. The chairman (Cr. Barriball) was appointed to represent the council for zone “A.”
