McKenzies Have Profitable Year

In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet at the annual meeting of McKenzie’s Department Stores, Ltd., Sir Charles Statham said that, in producing a profit of £85,352, they had provided for taxes to the extent of £42,618. Shareholders would realise from that just what a hungry sleeping partner they had in the State. He mentioned also that shareholders on the register for the full year would receive 18 per cent, on their capital.
