Otamatea’s Higher Rate Collection

Each riding in the Otamatea County, Mr Rodney Coates, the chairman, reported to the council this week, showed an increased percentage of rate collections.

The percentage over the whole county was 92.4 per cent., as against 89.2 per cent, for the previous year. The total of current rates and arrears collected during the year exceeded the amount struck for 1937-38 by £126. In the Whakapirau riding, only one ratepayer was in arrears.
