DON’T FORGETSATURDAY

When Young* Northlanders who are pupils of the three Whangarei schools—Hora Hora, Whangarei and Whau Valley—yesterday carried out their volunteer job of canvassing Whangarei selling programmes and tickets for the big Rugby Day on Saturday, they met with a fine response. In the few hours of the afternoon they raised a quite tremendous sum towards the building of our Tikipunga orphanage. Figures as yet are not available, but this much I can say—that the young folk of Whangarei worked very hard, and their efforts were well rewarded. Saturday, of course, is the big day. If you’ve seen a programme, then you’ll know what a treat is in store for all who make a point of attending at Rugby Park, And if you haven’t seen a programme, then you’ve missed somethingworth while. Persuade Dad to buy a Souvenir programme, and take the family to the football on Saturday. Remember all proceeds help towards the building of Northland’s Own Orphanage.
