Injured Child’s Fortitude
Gathering patangatangas in the bush on his grandfather’s farm at Takahue on Tuesday, Beverly Richards, the four-year-old son of Mr and Mrs S. Richards, of Unahi Road. Awanui, fell from a tree, injuring himself rather severely. Although his left arm was broken and the elbow dislocated, the child showed remarkable fortitude while being carried pick-a-back by Mr C. Ryder to the road a mile and a half away. He is a patient at the Kaitaia District Hospital.
