iPe.'t Press Association. Copyright.'] , •WELLINGTON. This Day. Daring the last couple of clays, a very active group of sunspots has made, its appearance, the eruption being unusually, sudden. The group has the : pro.digious length of 100,000 miles. If n. f rat present just off the sun’s central meridian, and it is possible that during the next night or two there may be a repetition of magnetic disturbances. and possible an auroral display. In addition to the huge group of spots, there arc quite a number of others, the whole solar disc being very active.

The centres of the two main spots are separating at about 18 miles a second, according to calculations made at the Dominion Observatory yesterday, '" ' h ~,, F ’■ T, .
