Stock Exchange Slacker Today
[Special To “Northern Advocate"} AUCKLAND, This Day. After a busy period yesterday, business on the Auckland Stock Exchange slackened. At the first call only three sales were recorded. The 'tanking section showed little change and in insurances, Nationals came close to business with Quotations from 17/7 to 17/8. Gas shares were steady with a market between £1 0/5 to £1 0/7. The dividend (announcements failed to lift New Zealand Brewery shares and sellers, at £2 3/9, were faced with buyers’ limits at £2 3/. There was only moderate interest ;n Australian issues, but buyers for Electrolytic Zinc raised their offers to £1 18/G for the ordinary, being steady at £2 3/ for the preferences. Colonial Sugars were quoted, ex dividend, with sellers at £4B 5/. and no buyers. The gilt-edged section seemed scarcely so firm, and the 52/55’s were g'amated Brick debentures were again placed 2/6 lower, at £lO4 10/. Amalin demand at £95 10/, and the Auckland issue was offered at £lO2, and the Wellington at par.
