Germany Wishes To Retire

(Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. The German Ambassador to China, Dr. Oskar Trautmann, said to-day that Germany had recalled her military advisers from China because she was anxious to be strictly neutral in the Far East, says a message from Reuter’s correspondent at Hankow. The Red Cross mission which arrived from Germany two months ago is also leaving. Chinese military circles hint that the German advisers may not be permitted to leave owing to the possibility that they might convey war secrets to Japan, says the Hankow correspondent of the British United Press.
