The Egmont facing Club’s winter meeting was concluded on Saturday at Hawera, in overcast weather. There was a good attendance, and the totalisator returns for the day were £16,714, as against £15,615 for the same day last year, an increase of £1099.
The total for the (meeting was £28,483 10/, compared with £35,495, a decrease of £7Oll 10/. Concluding results:— Adamson Steeplechase, of 225 sovs.; about two miles—(4) Don Erma,.9.3, 1; (10 -Forest Glow, 9,11, 2; (2) Royal Fire. 9.5, 3. Scr.: Artful Dodger. Five lengths; three lengths. Time: 4.8 1-5. 'Champion Hack Plate, of 275 sovs.; nine furlongs.—(2) Requiem, 8.2, 1; (?) Naughty Marietta, 8.3, 2; (1) Jack Tar, 8.6, 3. Scr.: Fafner. Length; half a 'length- Time: ;2.1 2-5. Davidson Handicap, of 250 sovs,; nine furlongs.—(3) Slippery, 7.0, 1; (1) Ned Cuttle, 8.4, .2; (2) Dutch Girl, 7.8, 3. Scr,: Wotan, Naughty Marietta. Three lengths each way. Time: 2.1. Borough Handicap, of 150 sovs.; seven furlongs.—(6) Disturbed, 7.0, I; (3) Maahanui, 7.5, 2; (7) Love Parade, 7.Q, 3. Scr.: Raceline, Gay Hunting. Length and a-half a head. Time: 1.34 3^5.
