Steady Bidding On Stock Exchange
AUCKLAND, This Day,
Bidding at the first call of the week on the Auckland Stock Exchange was steady for the most part, but there wei'e improved quotations 'in some instances. For \Australian Glass buyers moved up to £4 14/6 without obtaining supplies, and Broken Hill had a reported sale 6d higher, at £3 0/3. with a final market between £3 0/6 and £3 1/. G. J. Coles, too, were firmer, with buyers at £4 0/3, and sellers 1/ higher. Amongst New Zealand industrials, ers at 8/9 being faced with reserves Consolidated Bricks were firm, buw--6d higher. Taranaki Oils looked a little easier, buyers dropping back to 7/3. In the banking section, New Zealands were offered 3d cheaper, at £2 4/6. There was a good demand for cc'al 'shades. were 'a little firmer, but buyers for Taupiris dropped back 3d. to 16/6; sellers 1/ higher. Government stocks had an active demand at late rates, and Amalgamated Bricks , advanced further, with buyers at £94 10/. Sales completed at the noon call today were: Bank of New Zealand, £2 4/6; Australian Glass, £4 15/; Broken Hill Proprietary, £3 0/9; Mt. Lyell. £1 6/4; Mt. Morgan, 8/9.
