Mr J. G. Barclay. M.P.. left for Wellington on Saturday to attend the Easter conference of the Labour Party.
The Mayor of Dargaville, Mr F. A. Jones, has acceded to a request made by a deputation that he should offer himself for re-election. The other candidate is Mr R. Gibson, of Dargaville.
At the last monthly meeting of the Onerahi Town Board, business pertaining to the establishment of the Whangarei Airport at Onerahi was dealt with! At the conclusion of this
business, 4t was resolved; “That the Onerahi Town Board records in the minute-book its recognition and appreciation of Mr J. Reid’s services in connection with establishing the Whangarei Airport at Onerahi. The board recognises and appreciates the great amount of voluntary work clone by Mr Reid in obtaining and making available information necessary for the Inquiring authorities, also his good work in bringing about a harmonious agreement between the three town boards in the matter of contributions to aerodrome costs and representation on the airport board.”
