Water Supply For Mangonui
Reporting on the cost of a water supply for Mangonui township, Mr R. Torrie, engineer to the County Council, seated that ihe cost ox renewing the present pipe-line from the headworks to the reservoir at the old hospital site, reticulating the township, and providing service connections to all occupied sections, was estimated at £2300. The cost of providing a new main pipe-line from the headworks to a new reservoir on a site to be selected above the cemetery, the construction of a 20,000 gallon reservoir, and reticulating the town, was estimated at .£2770.
The works proposed would provide a good serviceable domestic supply, but not a supply for fire lighting or extraordinary uses. Taking the number of occupied sections as 50, the cost per section would be approximately £46. Cr.
