Kaitaia Rifle Club Formed
There was, an attendance of over 30 at Foster’s rooms, Kaitaia, on Tuesday evening, when it was unanimously decided to form a rille club to be known as the Kaitaia Defence Rifle Club. Officers elected Were: Patron, Mr A. McL. Wright; president, Mr P. Yendell; deputypresident, Mr R. R. Torrie; secretary, Mr D. Waddell; treasurer, Mr I. Corskie; auditor, Mr R. A. Johnston; Committee, Messrs H. Dunn, Theo Matthews. G. Molloy. L. Ramsey. P. Webber find W. Yendell. For their generosity in allowing the club to shoot over their land. Messrs Theo Matthews, Don Matthews, H. Sumrnerfield and F. Lamb were elected life members of the club.^ The annual subscription was fixed at 10/-, with a 10/- entrance fee. The following honorary members were elected: —Messrs G. Fleming, H. Head, J. W. Hoskin, D. Kitchen. E. C. Matthews, G. Pnckey, A. Wallace and j Befc White, and it was decided that | members of the local territorials j should be eligible to apply for honor- i ary membership.
Club Day (the day for match shoot.ing) is to be Sunday, but practices can naturally be held on any day providing arrangements are made with the committee.
