Many Holiday Travellers Here

Gcod weather, an Easter that falls early in the year, and conditions are ideal for, a travelling holiday. Thursday afternoon saw many cars on the roads, travelling north, south, east and direction that led to beach or bush or country.

Northland, as usual, proved a great attraction. Last night the motorists' camp site at Kensington Park was crammed with tents and caravans. This morning a dozen tents and two caravans remained. The others had pushed on to explore more of the scenic beauties for which the North

is noted. Indication of the motor traffic from Auckland was provided by a motorist who came through yesterday. In the Waipu Gorge a motor lorry towing a tarring-plant was encountered travelling at a low speed. Within 10 Minutes half a dozen cars had lined up behind it. “Everything you want is here,” remarked one camper at Kensington this morning, “We’re very well satisfied and perfectly com-

fortable. “There’s no comparison with the Western Springs camping ground in Auckland,” he said. “But here wo have every convenience, and a fellow doesn’t expect a camping ground to be a sort of Grand Hotel.”

Expectations Fulfilled.

This, particular camper and his party are making Kensington Park their headquarters for the duration of the holidays, and from it will visit the mapy points of interest in the district.

Asked whether she liked Whangarei, a lady member of the party glanced towards the hills. “Very much,” she said, and indicated that she y/as looking forward to seeing the many attractions here. It was her first trip to the North, and with the scenery en route as a prelude, she expected great things—and was getting them.

“The road up was splendid,” commented a motorist from Auckland. “There were very few pot-holes and we made good time the whole way.”
