Whangaroa Hospital Board

At the monthly meeting oi the Whangaroa Hospital Board, held at Kaeo on Monday, a tribute was paid by Mr T. H, Hayes (chairman) to the work of the clerk. Mr A. McAllister, as illustrated in the great improvement in the state of the board’s finances. Chiefly owing to his untiring efforts, stated Mr Hayes, there was nearly 100 per cent, increase in the revenue, due to the attention paid to the collection of outstanding accounts, current rates, and fees, etc.

The board passed a resolution raising Mr McAllister's salary by £35 per annum, and that of the matron of the hospital by £3O per annum, in appreciation of services rendered,
