Though the Waipu bowling greens were poorly patronised on Saturday afternoon, on account of the counterattraction of the Whangarei race meeting, quite an interesting round of play for. the president’s trophy was indulged in on the croquet greens. The winners for the round were Mesdames E. Durham, A. Sentch and R. F. McKay. Throughout the present tennis season, spirited contests for the silver challenge buttons have stimulated the interest of players, and helped to improve the standard of play. Final tests were played last Saturday before the badges are handed in till next season. Fmal winners in the sections were:—Men’s doubles: Ken McKay and A. McLean. Ladies doubles: Mesdames Tebbutt and Kay. Combines; Mrs Tebbfitt and T. Pasley. '
