Otiria

A social evening was held recently in the hall attached to the residence of Mr and Mrs. R. Thompson to farewell Mr and Mrs Howe and family. Mr Row.c. who has been stationmaster at Otiria Junction for some time has been transferred l«> Auck-. land. Dance music was provided by Messrs W. Cher ring lon. R. Cook and Mrs Baggstrom. There were about 50 guests present, 'mostly from the Otiria and Orauta districts. Community ringing proved popular, and songs were rung by l\lrs Raggslrom and a duet by Mes:dames / Baggslrom and Rowe, Mrs Rowe war pre-son led with a very large and beautiful bo: of chocolates. The promoters of the function, Mr and Mrs R Thompson and Mr 'R. Cook, were assisted with the provision and dispensing of a very dainty supper by neighbours and friends of the departing guests. Much sympathy is. expressed with Mr Pae Hexa, of Otiria Junction, in his long • indisposition through a badly fractured left arm. as the result of an accident some time ago. ”
