44-Hour Week For South Auckland Butchers

A 44-hour week, to be spread over five days in Hamilton and Rotorua, and to be optional 'within defined limits in outlying areas, is provided for in the award issued by the Court of Arbitration governing butchers in the South Auckland district. Saturday is to be observed as a full holiday in Hamilton.
The award covers that portion of the Northern Industrial District lying to the south of a 21-mile radius of the Auckland Chief Post Office, except the portion known as the Gisborne Judicial District.
