The importation of bananas is to be /.aken out cf private hands and operated by the Internal Marketing Department/ from Wellington. Although the regulations formally provide for the change-ovevr as from today, the service will actually be inaugurated on Monday, when the Niagara will arrive with the first shipment of Government bananas.

The Governrnent scheme for controlling the local butter market is advanced further by regulations rebrand each. bor of brands to be used. Retailors’ brands arc eliminated, while wholesalers and factories are allowed one brnand each.
