WHANGAREI WIN INTERSCHOOL SHOOTING
The shooting match, the final event of the contests between Whangarei High School and Mt. Albert Grammar School, was fired at the Whareora
Range this morning. Weather conditions were bad and a a strong gusty crosswind handicapped the contestants. The visitors, who were not used to the range, shot at a great disadvantage and did not reproduce their best Auckland form. Whangarei won the match with a score of 292 against Mt. Albert’s 239. Here and Rogers, of Whangarei, shot very well and both scored 35 out of 100. Details of the shooting arc:— 500 Yards Application (20 points).— Rogers (W.H.S.) 19 points, Hore CW.H.S.) 16.
