SCHOOL LAB. EXPLOSION; BOY INJURED

Severe injuries to his left eye were suffered by a school boy. Marcus Poole, when an explosion occurred in one of the laboratories at Wellington College yesterday. The boy. who lives with his parents, Mr and Mrs W. H. Poole, of 23 Everest Street, Kiiandallah, was removed to hospital with his eye pierced by a fragment of flying glass.
He was operated on this morning. It is understood that an experiment involving hydrogen gas was being conducted before the class, when a glass container exploded.
It was stated that Poole was sitting furthest away from the experiment.
