MT. ALBERT TAKE SWIMMING HONOURS

Mt. Albert Grammar School gained the honours in the annual swimming contest \v. ; :lh the Whangarei High School , this morning, at the primary school baths. The final points were: Mt. Albert 17, Whangarei 13. There were six events, senior 100 yards and 50 yards, and intermediate 33 1-3 yards and 66 2-3 yards, and also a senior and intermediate relay. Results were: — Senior 100 yards: Goodison (Whg.) 1. Gurr (Whg.) 2, R, Hughes (Mt. A.) 3. Time:- 1.9 1-5. The swimmers were even at the end'd’ the first length, but in the second, Goodison 'began to pull ahead: and was leading by about three .! feet. He wgs first home by a couple of feet, with Hughes close behind Gurr. 50 yards senior; B. G. Biggs (Mt. A.) T, F. Wilson (Whg.) 2, M. Hore (Whg.) 3. Time: 31 1-5 secs.
