Mr A. E. Lacey left today for Auckland, where he has been appointed manager of Shaw’s Pharmacy, Queen Street. Mr Lacey gained all his experience in Whangarei, having been attached to the staff of Burfcot’s Pharmacy, Cameron Street, for 11 years. He devoted particular attention to the photographic side and himslf has secured some of the finest camera studies *of Northland. Until recently, Mr Lacey was an active footballer and j cricketer and two years ago won the aggregate . points cup of the Whangarei Amateur Ar.hletic Club.
The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, has been unanimously nominated as Labour candidate for the Raglan electorate. Mr C. A. Wilkinson has definitely decided t D contest the Egmont seat as an Independent candidate. He conveyed his decision in a letter the Mayor 'of Opunake. s
Mr A. Turner, 'a principal in che firm of Messrs Turners and Growers, Ltd., Auckland, has been appointed supervisor of the banana distribution in the Internal Marketing Department. This decision was announced by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, last night.
