CATTLE AND PIGS AT KAMO

Walter Wakelin reports having held his weekly sale of cattle and pigs at Kamo yesterday, when upwards of 200 cattle and 450 pigs were yarded. There was a large attendance of buyers and a brisk sale resulted. Only a small number of dairy stock was forthcoming, and these met with a ready sale, realising up to £8 15/. A line of 48 21-year Shorthorn and Hereford steers realised from £6 9/ to £7 9/; fat cows realised from £5 10/ to £6 10/: boner cows, £2 10/ to £3 15/; Shorthorn heifers, r.w.b., £4 19/ to £6 10/: in calf Jersey heifers, £5 5/ to £5 10/; two and four-tooth wethers, to 22/9, Pigs: Medium baccners, £3 5/ to £3 10/6; light baconers, £2 18/ to £3 3/; heavy porkers, £2 5/ to £2 12/; medium porkers, 38/ to £2 2/; light porkers, 31/ to 36/; small and unfinished porkers. 25/ to 29/; choppers, £1 17/ to £2 1/; large stores, 23/ to 26/; good slips, 16/ to 19/; weaners, best, 8/ to 11/: smaller weaners. 6/ to 7/.
