Tiie concluding match, oi: a spirited competition for the Snaith Memorial Cup, was played on the Waipu crov|;' quet lawns last Saturday, the trophy being won by Mrs R. Durham, with ; Mrs R. F. McKay as runner-up. A trophy presented by the president. Mrs D. J. McLean, is to be played for next , Saturday. Teams from Waipu Bowling Club I travelled on Saturday to participate in v'; matches at Dargaville and Portland respectively. ' Mr R. M. On the local tennis courts on Saturday, a very enjoyable match was played between teams picked by the T. president and secretary. After a series •V of close contests the secretary’s team proved victorious. Tennis Champions. On Thursday evening the Tennis ' .Club promoted a successful dance in I’ the public hall. Mr J. Baxter, of North River, recently tested pupils of the . '■iCentral School, and awarded 32 swim- ' ming certificates, distances covered ranging from 25 to 880 yards. ■ ■
