Work is progressing rapidly on the new cathedral at Guildford , Surrey , where the site is dominated by the well-known great cross. The building will be of rose coloured bricks and will be as representative of the present generation as many off England's most treasured ecclesiastical buildings are of the past. The Archbishop of Canterbury laid the foundation-stone on July 22, 1936.
