No Technical Instruction For Country Children
Some time ago the Onerahi School Committee asked the Whangarei High School Board if 24 pupils could receive technical -instruction at the High School. Owing to the increased numbers of pupils at the High School, it was found that accommodation and staff was unavailable, but the board circularised schools in the district to find out if there was a general desire for such technical education to be given. If so, the board was prepared to make application to the department for additional accommodation and staff. Only three schools replied to the circular and in view of the response the board felt that it could not make application to the department.
