Waiotira Branch Of Farmers’ Union

Tho annual meeting of the Waiotira branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held in the Waikiekie Hall on Saturday, 26th inst. The chairman gave a very good address on the working of the branch during the year. He also mentioned the delegation which waited on the County Council regarding the metalling of two clay roads in the district. Mr E. Babe also gave a very interesting address on the working of the branch. A vote of thanks was accorded to both speakers. It was decided to hold a small debate or discussion after the monthly meetings. Mr E. Babe was appointed speaker at the next meeting, the subject being “The Disadvantages! of Party Politics.” The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr F. Jones; vice-president, Mr S. Mason; secretary and treasureiv Mr G. Cubitt; executive committee, Messrs. C. Dobson, E. Babe, R. Babe, G. Cubitt.
