F reply to representations concerning the, destruction of game near Public Works Department camps, the Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, wrote to the Auckland Acclimatisation Society to the effect that he had issued definite instructions some months ago to all persons in his department that anjy destruction of native bush or the illegal taking cf trout would result in their immediate dismissal. These instructions had been repeated, said Mr Semple. Mr Semple invited the society to provide the names of the camps where poaching was suspected.
