Bowling Club Affairs

A most interesting position is de-

veloping in the Hikurangi Bowling Club’s singles championship. On Monday night Westwell beat Ward, 27—17. To do so be was called upon to produce his best form and the match was a really good one. Westwell, who has completed one more round, and Nesbitt are the only two-lifers. Those with one life remaining are Robertson, Johnson, Edgar, Sissons, Steele, Phillips and R. Scott. The half-day tourney for full rinks, which was postponed on Saturday owing to the weather, has been advanced to February 19 by permission of the centre. The conversion of the benzine motor grass cutting machine into an electrical plant, at a cost of approximately £ll has been very beneficial. Following the rain last week-end the Hikurangi greens are in tip-top condition and are playing as well as any in the North.
